With the 2021-2022 school year beginning, which is now as close to being back to normal as possible. It’s been more obvious than ever that education has been at a major decline since the start of COVID-19.
So, for us to get our education system back on track and recover we need to start with our youth. An average teacher’s workday is from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, for five days a week. Teachers do a great amount of work, from the administration to parents their workload demands dedication. Not to mention, they play a major role in our day to day lives. However, youth leaders can encourage peers to do their part to assist teachers and the education system.
I have been working with school counselors and administrators within my district on ways to encourage students to excel in the classroom and continue their education after high school. Specifically, I have been planning FAFSA nights, Apply to College night, and other events to open the opportunity for youth in my district. I've also been thinking of more modern techniques for teachers to use in the classroom.
The future of America are the kids that sit at desks in the classrooms, so it can’t hurt to invest in them, the future of the world.
